About the JKA

Who are the Japan Karate Association?

The Japan Karate Association, which was established in 1948, was highly evaluated for its social activities, and was approved by the Ministry of Education at that time as a “corporate body” in 1957, and was born in Japan. We have endeavored to properly inherit and develop the irreplaceable martial arts culture. Then, on March 21, 2012, it was recertified by the Prime Minister as a “public interest incorporated association”.

The Japan Karate Association aims to improve its skills and disseminate self-discipline through research and guidance on karate, thereby contributing to the improvement of the national position and the development of a sound martial arts spirit. The purpose is to contribute to world peace by spreading the spirit of Japanese martial arts that we value to all over the world.
